Leadership Covenant

1 Timothy 3:8-12  “Servants, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to
much wine, not greedy for money; holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. Let them also
first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless. Their wives in the same way must be reverent,
not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. Let servants be husbands of one wife, ruling their
children and their own houses well.”

  1. Spiritual Unity - ONE: Spiritual Unity is at the very heart of the Christian faith and the life of Christ’s church. The church of Jesus Christ is One Body, One Spirit, One Hope, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, One God, and Father to all. Ephesians 4:3- 6 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all." (NLT)

  2. Conflict Resolution: Conflict is inevitable. No relationship is immune. When managed biblically, conflict can serve as a catalyst for change and an opportunity for spiritual and relational growth. Hebrew 12:15 See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled (English Standard Version)

  3. Stay Fit: Spiritually/Relationally/Emotionally/Physically 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. (New King James Version)

  4. Family Matters: God, Family, Church/A healthy family = a healthy church. 1 Timothy 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (New King James Version)

  5. Replace Yourselves: Teach what you know/ Position your team to recruit/ Applaud those who Applaud you. In order to replace yourself, you have to see the good of the organization as more important than your own. You have to be able to resist the natural reaction to protect yourself and your position. Mathew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (New King James Version)

  6. Enjoy the Journey: Focus on the plan, the call, and enjoy the journey along the way. Life is not about arriving; it is about the journey and most importantly our journey into the heart of God. Acts 17:28 For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ (New King James Version) Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (New King James)
